Manufacturing and distribution of paper bags
Some years ago, as part of our diversification plans, we embarked on a non-timber related manufacturing activity through a subsidiary, Indah Paper Industries Sdn. Bhd. The company produces multi wall sack Kraft bags, a packaging material that has the ability to absorb and diffuse condensed moisture trapped in the bag after packaging and hence keeping the contents dry. In addition, the bags do not have disposal problems due to its bio-degradable nature and is therefore environment friendly. The Kraft bags are used for packaging cement, chemicals, oleo chemical food, coconut, cocoa, and plaster. The main raw material, namely Kraft, is, imported from China, and the Scandinavian countries. Other materials such as Kraft tape, thread, glue, and printing ink are sourced locally. The company is in the process of enhancing the quality of its products by installing advanced paper rack related manufacturing machinery. It hopes to expand its capabilities to overcome stiff competition as well as tapping into other potential new markets, both domestic and overseas.
